Chris (Tip) O'Neill

Name: Chris (Tip) O'Neill

After MHS I: oh geez, where do I start?  Finished undergrad at the 'U' in Political Science, worked at the State Capitol for a year, got disenchanted, went back to school to finish Spanish/Portuguese degree, traveled to Brazil, finished a master's in Latin American Studies, joined the Peace Corps in Honduras for three years, returned to California, got married and had a beautiful little girl this spring!

While at MHS, I would have loved to have had a date with (or been noticed by): Too many to list here...

Most Embarrassing High School memory is: Too many to list here...

Most exciting thing I’ve done since I left MHS: Worked as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras

Farthest away from MHS: Brazil

Most bizarre place I’ve run into an old classmate: Can't remember....

Best friend while at MHS: Syd Hamblin, other "Breezes" staff

The most meaningful moment I have had since MHS: Meeting my future wife as a Peace Corps volunteer then moving to California.

I now reside in: Northfield, MN

Here’s what I do on a daily basis: I'm a sixth grade teacher, so now I get my summers off!  But I'm plenty busy during the rest of the year.

I have kids?: Yes, Ava, five months

I am married?: Yes

Spouse/Partner: Tracy

I’ve learned since high school: It's hell to get old

What I would like to go down in history for: Helping Don Gregorio Vasquez build his school to teach Honduran campesinos how to live a better life through sustainable agriculture; for being a great husband and dad.
