Karen (Jacobson) Post

Name: Karen Post
Birth Name: Karen Jacobson

After MHS I: I moved from Minnetonka to Illinois right before High School, so actually, I never officially attended MHS although I visited MANY times and had so much fun I wished I had never moved! (MHS was much cooler than my high school in IL.!) I'm looking to reconnect with friends who went to West Junior High, Minnewashta Elementary, and Excelsior United Methodist Church.  My familiy's move to Illinois was devastating to me at the time and I never stopped missing everyone. Hopefully, some of you will remember me!  Anyway, although I've lived in Illinois for 20 years now, (almost 6 years longer than I lived in Minnetonka!) I still tell people I'm from Minnesota ... Can't seem to get it out of my blood!

While at MHS, I would have loved to have had a date with (or been noticed by): Ask Lonna Housman, she knows him.

Most Embarrassing High School memory is: Oh, dear. I've tried really hard to forget that so I don't think I'll share!  But if you really want to know, ask Lonna Housman, she probably knows.

Most exciting thing I’ve done since I left MHS: Well, ummmm  . . . that is kind of personal!

Farthest away from MHS: Either London or the Netherlands, but I'm not sure which is farther away because I was never too good at geography.  Loved London, got to walk on Abbey Road just like the Beatles!

Most bizarre place I’ve run into an old classmate: When I was working for Waste Management in Chicago, I got a business phone call from Eric Litterer . . .I think he was trying to sell printers.  Also, last year, I was helping out at my church with the New Member class when I came face to face with George Noren!  That was really kind of funny because George and I went to the same Methodist church in Excelsior and now we both belong to the same Lutheran church in Naperville, IL!

Best friend while at MHS: Lonna Housman and Beth Stiller (class of '82)Oddly enough they both remained my best friends throughout high school even though I moved.  They are STILL two of my dearest and most treasured friends on earth.  Love you, Lonna!!

The most meaningful moment I have had since MHS: Definitely, giving birth to my three children. Also I participated in a women's retreat at my church that changed my life significantly

I now reside in: Naperville, Illinois.  Same place I moved to in 1979.  So much for my big dream of moving back to Minnesota someday!

Here’s what I do on a daily basis: I'm a stay at home mom and I love every minute I have with my children.  I also produce newsletters on the side and I'm involved with my church and at my kid's school.

I have kids?: Adam John (A.J.), age 9; Hannah, age 6 and Ryan age 4.

I am married?: yes

Spouse/Partner: My husband, Paul, is currently on active duty as a Lt. Colonel for the U.S. Army.  I'm proud to say that his service has allowed him to stay stateside and be with our family. When he returns to the civilian world he is a regional auditor for Airborne Express.

I’ve learned since high school: That all the things that I thought were so important, really weren't!!

What I would like to go down in history for: I'd like to be remembered for being a friend that is so relentless, that she doesn't quit being a friend just because time passes!
