Name: Linda Schemmel Birth Name: Linda Blanke
After MHS I: Visited UMD for a year....nice place. Started work early on...have been at Best Buy Corp for the last 4 years. Got married, had two children, ran 1/2 dozen marathons...there are a few other things I'm sure I forgot.
While at MHS, I would have loved to have had a date with (or been noticed by): Drawing a "blank" on that one....Ha!
Most Embarrassing High School memory is: Embarrasing? Naw....they were just learning experiences, ones I'd rather not re-live nor discuss with my children.
Most exciting thing I’ve done since I left MHS: The birth of my two daughters (without medication!) is number 1. Getting married to someone I truly love. Also, finishing my first marathon was pretty exciting, along with hiking in Aspen with my husband.
Farthest away from MHS: Aruba, Hawaii
Most bizarre place I’ve run into an old classmate: Best Buy Corp. Ran into Kathy Lundgren at Spalon Montage. Bob Manning in a bar downtown....years ago.
Best friend while at MHS: Kristen (Kristi) Forss, Stuart Flake
The most meaningful moment I have had since MHS: Best: The birth of my children, Nicole and Taylor...being their Mom inspires me to be a better person all around. Worst: The death of my father when I was only 20. Still impacts me today...I realized how much is lost when someone you love dies and how you should make the most of everyday you are blessed with and show your children how much they are loved.
I now reside in: Eden Prairie, MN - although we are moving to a new house in 2 weeks...same city, Eden Prairie.
Here’s what I do on a daily basis: Pray, laugh, listen, take deep breaths, work, eat, think before I speak, be with my family, hug & kiss my girls...excersise and tuck my girls into bed.
I have kids?: That would be a yes. Nicole 11 1/2 and Taylor 10. Plus, 2 cats, Angel and Chip (trust me, that qualifies!)
I am married?: You are correct.
Spouse/Partner: John Schemmel
I’ve learned since high school: High school was all very silly. To never assume anything...you'll usually end up wrong. Don't take life so seriously, a bit of humor everyday is like a soothing balm to the facial muscles. Be grateful for what you have and are blessed with. That your children will humble you at the most opportune times. That forgiveness and reaching out to others is good for the soul. That people change, mostly for the better (with the exception of being late)...and finally, that it isn't true what they say about green M&M's....and to realize not only did I not know it all, I didn't know anything.
What I would like to go down in history for: Being a good wife and mother...and making a positive difference, even if it is only in the smallest way.
