Name: Mark Heller
After MHS I: Earned a degree in Biology from the University of St. Thomas; a M.D. from the Universtiy of Minnesota Medical School; completed a Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery; I am now a Partner at Minnesota Orthopaedic Specialists in Minneapolis.
While at MHS, I would have loved to have had a date with (or been noticed by): Joanne Gaytko
Most Embarrassing High School memory is: Getting carded ordering Grasshoppers on a band trip with Hardy & Gaytko.
Most exciting thing I’ve done since I left MHS: Sailed and swam with whales & dolphins in the Grenadines.
Farthest away from MHS: Tobago Cayes in the Caribbean...next year I'm sailing to Bora Bora.
Most bizarre place I’ve run into an old classmate: Rich Whipperfurth on a beach in South Padre Island, Texas.
Best friend while at MHS: Bernie Gaytko
The most meaningful moment I have had since MHS: The birth of my two daughters.
I now reside in: North Oaks, MN
Here’s what I do on a daily basis: My 7-year old daughter tells her class that I "cut people up", but technically, I'm an Orthopaedic Surgeon. My night job is being a soccer coach for my daughter's team.
I have kids?: Madeline - 7 years old & Caroline - 5 years old.
I am married?: Yes
Spouse/Partner: I married Ann Marie in 1990. She is a lovely person and a lawyer who recently decided to stay at home with our girls.
I’ve learned since high school: It is fun being Ed Kelly's boss.
What I would like to go down in history for: Being man enough to lose my hair for my best friend Bernie Gaytko & for being a great dad and husband.
