Name: Pam Peterson Birth Name: Berg
After MHS I: I graduated from UMD with a Communications degree and minor in American Indian Studies. I spent five years working at Northwest Airlines in Human Resources Management and as the Communication Specialist for the Flight Operations VP. I spent six years as the Executive Director of STARBASE Minnesota which is a non-profit that motivates inner-city youth in math, science and technology using aerospace education. In 1999, I became a circus ring master after the birth of my third son.
While at MHS, I would have loved to have had a date with (or been noticed by): Any nice guy... I wasn't noticed much
Most Embarrassing High School memory is: I can't recall any. I saved the embarrassments for college and parenthood.
Most exciting thing I’ve done since I left MHS: I toured an aircraft carrier in Norfolk, VA and visited Mission Control in Houston the morning of a space shuttle launch... very cool.
Farthest away from MHS: I lived in Sweden the summer between my sophomore and junior years of HS. I had my wedding dress custom-made in Seoul, Korea during a three day visit with my parents.
Most bizarre place I’ve run into an old classmate: I recall seeing Andria Nicholson and Kim Berthe as Flight Attendants when I worked at NWA. I saw Mike Thomsen and Bill Ryan at a post-college house party years ago.
Best friend while at MHS: Lynn Thome.
The most meaningful moment I have had since MHS: Personally, getting married and the births of my boys. Professionally, I was the third civilian recipient of the Minnesota National Guard's Outstanding Service Award.
I now reside in: Inver Grove Heights, MN
Here’s what I do on a daily basis: Ring Master for the Peterson Three Ring Circus. I feed the three wild animals (aka children) breakfast at least twice. I teach them tricks like making their beds, getting dressed in shirts and shorts that match, and cleaning up after themselves. I then put the wild animals out to pasture on our three acre homestead to exercise and burn off energy. The feedbags are again filled several more times over the course of the day. At the end of the day, the animals collectively practice their SmackDown moves in the bath tub prior to retiring in their stalls (aka beds) until morning.
I have kids?: Three high energy boys: Ben 7, Noah 5 1/2, and Owen 4 (but he thinks he's 12)
I am married?: Very happily
Spouse/Partner: Steve Peterson of Staples, MN
I’ve learned since high school: that there are countless interesting people to still meet in the world and life has more challenges and fun experiences yet to come. When the chips are down, pin my ears back, toughen up and have a sense of humor.
What I would like to go down in history for: being a good mom, wife, friend and neighbor.
