Name: Rich Wipperfurth Birth Name: Wipperfurth
After MHS I: Created network of drinking age socialites who would help me enter bars while underage. Next came a four-year social engagement in St. Peter, MN, complete with all the trappings you would expect. Ended up with a degree in Biology, and later an M.A. in Psychology. Parlayed this into a career in healthcare, where I confound friends and relatives by trying to describe what I do for a living.
While at MHS, I would have loved to have had a date with (or been noticed by): Sue, Deborah, Ann.
Most Embarrassing High School memory is: Having to lobby (hard) to not win 'Most Confused' in mock elections.
Most exciting thing I’ve done since I left MHS: Traveled. Heard great music with my wife. Watched my kids doing the things that I did so long ago (play sports, tell stories, ask embarrassing questions, etc.). Helped to bring a company public (experienced the San Francisco dot.com boom). Became a paper millionaire. Became a paper pauper. Doing the same again (with more success hopefully).
Farthest away from MHS: Paros, Greece
Most bizarre place I’ve run into an old classmate: D.C. Airport
Best friend while at MHS: Several great people who befriended a goofy kid with a bad wardrobe: Mike Shreve, Tom Ostrom, Mark Heller, Bob Rieff, Bernie Gaytko, the list goes on...
The most meaningful moment I have had since MHS: Wedding Day. The first day home with each of our kids.
I now reside in: Edina, MN
Here’s what I do on a daily basis: Get coffee. Manage kids, Manage work. Get managed by my wife. Enjoy every day - I picked my Manager well.
I have kids?: 3 Girls - Spenser (10), Sydney (8), Samantha (2)
I am married?: Yes
Spouse/Partner: Terri (Holtan) Wipperfurth
I’ve learned since high school: Beer before liquor, never been... wait, how does that go again?
What I would like to go down in history for: I want people to say, "Hey, isn't that (Insert one of my kids names here)'s Dad?"
