Scott Thiede

Name: Scott Thiede  / AKA "Sarge"
Birth Name: Thiede.  When I was young, step dad adopted me and it changed to Sargent. At 18 I changed it back.

After MHS I: For the first ten, OK… 15 years, I continued to be as irresponsible as hell and had a lot of fun doing it.  During the summer months I spent much of my time camping, hiking and climbing all around the North Shore.  In the winter it was snow boarding Spirit Mountain almost every weekend and Para-sailing on Lake Minnetonka behind a Jeep.  The highlight of those years was a 6-month kayak trip and the handful of Dead shows I hit before Jerry died.

Eight years ago I met Beth, an Edina “cake-eater” of all things, who stood beside me while I cleaned up the mess I had created in my “youth” and she became my wife two years later.  We have three beautiful kids, Melissa (3) and Nick and Jessica (14 month twins).  She’s a stay at home mom and I’m a Regional Sales Manager for the Bergquist Company.  Life is good.

While at MHS, I would have loved to have had a date with (or been noticed by): Molly Emmer

Most Embarrassing High School memory is: Yeah right, like I want to discuss that again!

Most exciting thing I’ve done since I left MHS: Awareness Paddle - A highly publicized kayak trip I did with two others guys to raise awareness for Clean Water Action and Wilderness Inquiry. It consisted of going down the Mississippi River, along the Gulf of Mexico to Florida and then Sailing a 60 foot Irwin through the Florida Keys and the Bahama Islands.  The trip ended on Harbour Island where I spent 4 weeks living in paradise.

Farthest away from MHS: Harbour Island, Bahamas.

Most bizarre place I’ve run into an old classmate: Runnning into Donna Deisher on South Beach, Miami during a photo shoot.  She was the make-up artist.

Best friend while at MHS: Phil Lein.  He's been by my side for the whole ride.  Love ya bud!

The most meaningful moment I have had since MHS: Saying my vows to my wife on our wedding day.

I now reside in: Eden Prairie, MN

Here’s what I do on a daily basis: Up at 6 AM to change diapers and play with the kids.  Help Beth feed them then jump in the shower (this is my quite time).  Drive 2 miles to work and start my day.  Go home over lunch to change diapers, play with the kids and give Beth a little break.  Go back to work until 5.  Go back home, change diapers and play with the kids.  Feed the twins and put them to bed.  Play with Melissa, have dinner then change the last diaper for the day.  Put Melissa to bed and finally relax for a couple of hours before collapsing in bed.

I have kids?: Oh yeah.

I am married?: Happily!

Spouse/Partner: Elizabeth / Beth or best known around our house as the "Weez" (short for weasel) because she always seems to get her way!

I’ve learned since high school: To be responsible for my actions.  To settle down and slow down.  Most importantly, it's not all about me.

What I would like to go down in history for: Being the best dad in the world.
